The 5 Vayus - An Introduction



As practitioners of yoga and meditation, we may hear about the concept of the vayus, the energy currents that flow through the body. These vayus are said to govern various aspects of our physical and mental being, and understanding them can be an important part of our practice. In this blog post, we'll be exploring the 5 vayus that are most commonly discussed in yoga teachings: prana vayu, apana vayu, samana vayu, udana vayu, and vyana vayu.


It's important to note that the concept of the vayus is open to interpretation and debate, and different teachers may have different perspectives on their nature and function. As with any aspect of yoga, it's important to keep an open mind and be willing to consider different viewpoints, while also being critical and discerning in our approach.
